In ceremonies held Monday morning, Highway 36 East in Lamar County was renamed in honor of MSG Davy N. Weaver who was killed in action last year in Afghanistan.

Exactly how much of the road is named after him? Is it just the portion around Lila Church or is it the entire portion of Hwy 36 in Lamar?

know how much I appreciate being able to have online access the stories and photos that you have done on MSG Davy Weaver. Chuck and Patsy Rabuck are my brother and Sister-in-law. I live in Wisconsin and would have no other way to actually see these articles. Your coverage is much appreciated here.

What an honor it is to drive down 36 everyday and see the signs with the name of a fallen hero on it. I'm so thankful for our military and have a cousin who is serving in Iraq right now. Please let's salute those who have given their life for our freedom and continue to pray for the military and their families. Thank you MSG Davy Weaver you are a true hero!

This roadway has NOT been "renamed", it is given a nickname or alternate name, it is still, and will always remain "Ga. State rt. 36"
