Wanted to leave my heart felt condolences to the family of Mr. Paul.
There are some people who really do care about what happens to the people in barnesville and the surrounding areas.
We are all human, and life just happens to include accidents. I just hate that we all will one day have to feel the pains that this family is having to go through. Maybe not in the exact same way but a loss is a loss no matter how they pass. These people are hurting and I am hurting with them. I pray that in time things will not hurt as bad. I know there are no words that will make this not be, but know that I do care deep from within my heart.
To Elizabeth, Bobby And Chris we just want you all to know that we love all of you so much and will keep praying that God will comfort you and guide you all in the right direction to over come this pain your going thru.
I am sad that a person who was at no fault this had to happen. My heart goes out to the family that has to be without a father husband and friend because of someones negligance. I really hope this will wake others up and make them see just how bad that intersection is and see that one bad move can really make a difference. I think Lamar County should fix the problem And LED lights in the traffic lights aint gonna do it they think people dont see the light is red and run it no thats not the case people see it is red they just dont think of what could happen if they run it... NO place yo have to get no matter if your late is worth risking others lives and your own think about it that man was probably on his way home too to see his family and loved ones too but just because someone felt as though they werent entitled to being responsible he never made it so maybe we can take the time now and try saving another family from going through the same thing.
Thats why it is called an accident. Accidents happen daily but actually who are you to say and how would you even know that the other person involved ran this light intentionally? Your exactly right, your wouldnt. I have no clue who either party involved are but anyone that has ever driven a vehicle has at one time or the other either ran a red light, stop sign or came very close to having or causing an accident accidently. Yes the other driver is at fault but do not judge unless you are ready to be judged.
I'm so sorry for the family and friends of Mr. Hayes. Prayers are with you.

To Elizabeth,Bobby and Chris, Our family is so sad to hear of your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you now at this very sad time.If there is any thing we can do please let us know. My dad and Paul are in the arms of the Lord now and they suffer no more.
This is so sad. I don't know this family or the other driver and her family, but I send my sympathy to them. This is a reminder to all of us that we only have this second that we are in, the next one is not guaranteed.
i'm sorry for your loss... i do, however, think that intersection is perfectly safe. If you can not see the lights you shouldn't be driving, if you do not know how to obey traffic laws you shouldn't be driving, simple as that.... i'll save the county thousands of dollars.... red means STOP, yellow means SLOW DOWN/YIELD, and green means GO. Turning lanes pay attention for oncoming traffic if the green arrow is not lit. The key word is PAY ATTENTION no matter which direction you're going....
the other day i was coming down 18 and almost hit some idiot driving a pale green full size chevy truck with a horse trailer on the back because for some reason he thought he'd pull on out and take the turn after the redlight had clearly engaged.
there's a lot of moron drivers here though..... i dont see anyone complaining about the merging lane onto 341 near the hot spot.... there's a clear YIELD SIGN... this means YIELD to oncoming traffic... it is NOT an on ramp like most people ASSume around here..... i see people just flying onto 341 without even looking to see if there's traffic in the right lane..... right lane traffic going only hiway 36 is put at risk for these idiot merging drivers..... should we build a overpass there? NO---it'd be stupid.... just as stupid as building an overpass at 18/341 for the 10% of stupid drivers this county has.
Your opinion is not needed. If you didnt notice this is where people are leaving comments to pauls family and letting them know they are in our prayers, And that were all so sorry for his loss. I have known Paul sence 1st grade. And this accident wasnt his fault. But he still lost his life, And Elizabeth lost her husband, and her kids lost there step-dad. So i dont think anyone wants your opinion driving instructor..
YOU KNOW STUPID IT IS A SHAME YOU WOULD USE THIS TIME TO THINK YOU KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT THE HIGHWAY. ALSO MORAN YOU SAID YOU ALMOST HIT SOMEONE THE OTHER DAY THAT PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF YOU IF YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN PAYING ATTENTION YOU WOULDN'T HAVE ALMOST HIT THEM NOW WOULD U
No airbag or He don't wear seat belt? Wear your seat belts. Every belt and every ride. No play and no cellphone and no music. Maybe video camera? with pole?
red light cameras are bull crap too... need stricter driving tests around here esp. for the elderly.... bottom line.
didn't say paul was at fault but the person responsible would not have caused the accident if they were paying attention.... so Lisa Anderson go to another bias forum because this is an open forum to the public.. therefor opinions will be expressed.
sorry for the loss but the loss would have been prevented by paying more attention while driving... not by the man struck but by the person at fault.
if they build a bypass i'm sure some person not paying attention would drive off the bridge causing a fatality.... stuff happens no matter what but simply following the traffic laws would help.... red = stop, yellow = yeild/stop, green = go. yield to oncoming traffic in the turning lanes.... pretty straightforward.....
idiots repeatedly wrecking there will always happen no matter what.

everything happens for a reason god calls the shots not the people on here so elizabeth please keep your faith in the lord above and remember he will never leave your side.. your a very strong and wonderful mother, wife, and person and im pretty sure you made his time with you worth livin for.. love you
I dont think we need to blame anyone in this accident. People make mistakes, not one person is perfect. I think we just need to leave a word of encouagement for both parties in this accident, because neither one made it.
My thoughts and prayers are with both families involved!!
Sorry for your loss Elizabeth,Bobby and Chris you will forever be in our prayers, thoughts and memories. I love yall, if you ever need anything please call me at anytime.

I just wanted to say a few words to everyone out there. I am so sad on the last of my wonderful, God sent husband Paul "Babydoll". But also to the Smith family. I have been to her grave side and gave her my forgiveness and prayed for her and her family as well, because I KNOW that's what Paul would have done, he was just that kind of person. He will be missed so deeply and I can't even began to tell you just how my heart is lost without him. Just like I said above, he was God sent to me and my boys just when we needed him most and I thank God for letting me have him for the time I did, but I know that God needs him back now, so my heart will heal in time with the greatful years and wonderful memories with him. Thanks to all of you who have sent your prayers to me and my boys. And please, also keep the Smith family in your prayers as well. I did not know her, but I do know that she was loved just as much as Paul was. There is one more thing I would like for everyone to know. PAUL ALWAYS WORE HIS SEATBEALT, HE EVEN MADE ME BUCKLE UP FIRST AND WHY HE DID NOT HAVE IT ON THAT MORNING? "WELL ONLY GOD KNOWS" AND I CAN NOT QUESTION GOD. So THANK YOU ALL again, for your thoughts and prayers. And remember, I don't care if your just going up your driveway, PUT YOUr SEATBELTS ON! They do save lives.

Thank you LCFD, if you were the ones to respond to the accident. If not thank you anyways for having this type of job and the love, and hard work you all put into it. I stoped by the station in town to thank the men/women who helped in trying to save my husbands life and it was another shift, but thank you all for everything you do for us out here. And one more thing, thank you for taking care of my son, God did spare him for me to keep and I thank him everyday for that.

Liz, I am So sorry for your loss, I just found out from Sheila. Please call me. Stay the strong woman you are, much love, and prayers for you, the boys, and the Smiths...
First of all my heart is with you all and this is a very sad thing that has happened. Although this wreck was not his fault I do think it is a matter of drivers paying close attention it is a safe intersection what happens is drivers think they can make it and can't and thats when accidents happened if you are late leave early but remember always pay close attention while driving. It's better to measure ten times and cut once than to cut ten times and measure once. My condolesences to the family!!!!!
