Multiple reports emanating from nearby Griffin have the Spalding High Jaguars 'promising' to score at least 50 points on the Lamar County Trojans Friday night in the first ever game played at Trojan Field.

Hell-o all and the Lady Trojans continued their winning ways, 2nd place in the Crawford Tournament, a win over Jackson and a win over Howard...on a nice field that did not cost the taxpayers a fortune..have a good day and good luck Friday night

I hate the way people on here have no support for our Trojans. Our past doesn't matter! Even if we don't win we should support our kids for the simple fact they are going out the and trying. Winning isn't everything! GO BIG BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!

It's ashamed that Lamar Co. has to try and fire up it's team this way. I'm sure that it is not Spalding High players saying this. By the way Spalding High and Griffin High are two different schools.

i figure its going to be more like 60-70 pts. the difference is that Griffin is not full of wanna be "jocksniffers" like lamar county they are REAL FOOTBALL PLAYERS.

Wow, who cares, Spalding as a AAA team - they should win. Why smack talk about beating a team thats in a lower class than your own. Looks like Lamar is the team with real class, just play hard and do well in your division Trojans - Good luck on the 2009 Season!!

Just what is so hard to understand about what a SPLOST is? Your property taxes did not pay a red cent towards the badly needed stadium and auditorium. Why continue to live in the dark ages as the laughing stock of the whole area when we can allow everyone, including our out of town vistors, Gordon students and others to pay for it? Do you folks have any idea about the revenue the new stadium will bring to the area when we have band competions and the like there? I guess you would have to have a real positive attitude to think about that. Your comments about our local team certainly show you don't have one!

I wish the best for Lamar County Trojans but I must say that you know not what you say. This cost the citizens of the county plenty. You should learn what went down before you engage your brain on something you apparently don't have all the facts about. Our taxes paid a whole lot of cents - dollars too.

The mentality of the folks that don't understand the value of SPLOST is amazing... They will just continue to dumb themselves to death. How any athletic teams wins in this county with all of the negativity, very little support, and naysayers is truly unbelievable... There is much work to be done to get some of these folks, as you say, out of the dark ages.

Spalding is completely crazy thinking that they will be able to do that to us. As much work as we put into this program, there is no way that will happen. The community needs to forget the past and support us no matter what. Things have changed for the Trojans. "Suddenly it Changes"

Is it new players?
Is it new coaches?
Is it better attitude?
Is it better discipline?

It makes no difference that Spalding is higher ranked team. They are still just boys playing a game of football. They are on average the same size and age. Therefore, whoever goes out there and plays with heart and determination to win; should win. I say to Lamar County not to let them play mind games. Concentrate, stay focused, play error free, set a goal of winning and win.

There are 4 things I thought I needed to mention.
1. Spalding is not the Griffin Bears. Stop saying Griffin. Griffin High is a AAAA school. Spalding is the Jaguars and Griffin is the Bears. Spalding is AAA. LC IS PLAYING SPALDING!!! Not Griffin.
2. Support your team. The past is the gone. One of the biggest problems that the Trojans has is lack of fan support by the Barnesville and Lamar County community. Just believe in them.
3. Stop talking about the football field and the price. That's all over with. There is nothing you can do about it now. Just look at it. It's beutiful. It's world class. There is not a school in GA that has a stadium like this in a school our size. If you don't like it, then we don't want you coming to the games. Stay at home and whine all you want.
4. We ain't gonna let anybody trash talk us like this. What goes around comes around. 50 points? That's absolutely crazy!
GO TROJANS!

Well said anonymous. There are people out there that support the team and what the county is doing to improve the school system. It seems to me that it's the uneducated people of Lamar County that do not get it. They would rather have the money for themselves for their Bud light and Marlboro's. peple talk all smack on the Trojans about getting 50 by Griffin put on us. not in the new field. aint gonna happen cause we gonna air passes for touchdowns. defence might give up some point but not no 50. play with the pride cause them white boys from Griffin cant play football in south like Lc!

lamar county trojans are going to do exactly that,and let griffin come down and skunk they're tails on a brand new field the tax payers paid for to watch the trojans lose 2 in a row.....i also hear the gullible are gonna pay even more to watch the trojans lose due to the fact prices went up on tickets to watch the home team lose again.....
