Losers no more.
Those were the words Trojan head coach Jason Strickland had for his team as they gathered on the 50-yard line at their brand, spanking new Trojan Field after routing the Spalding Jaguars 31-0 Friday night.
Suddenly. Change!

good job Trojans! Excellant game #1 in your new home. I also think the announcer danny turner did an oustanding job in the press box. he was dead on all night calling out the players names...he must have some good spotters up there with him!

He was not dead on it, he called one player who was standing on the sidelines not even dressed out. He could not even call the right numbers on the scrimmage game. They may need to consider someone who can keep up with the players numbers so they can get credit where credit is due!

If never announcing what down, what yardline the ball was on, how many yards to go etc. then I guess he did ok taking up the slack time before plays. With all the money this county spent on this facility, which is by far one of the nicest in the state, could we get someone that knows what they are doing to run the scoreboard? Never ONCE was the down posted, yardline the ball was on, or how many yards to go. When the Trojans scored, the score was not posted until the kickoff was about to happen, and of course we had no help from the announcer. Concerning the concessions, could we please get drinks in a cup on ice for LESS THAN $2!!!! COLD DRINKS!!! We have a first class field, now let's tweak it. Good job team.

I totally agree with needing a new announcer. I believe I posted something about it in the blog about the scrimmage. He pauses too much and there is too much waiting time. He DOES NOT know the players and their numbers. He doesn't even watch the field to see who is actullay getting the tackles. He gives the tackles to players who aren't even near the play. Come on. Something needs to be done. Yes, drinks are too much and are not cold.

Announcers dont control the scoreboard. Hey, they need a volunteer to run the scoreboard...you intrested? you get in free so then you can by you some $2 drinks. Plus, you are so intrested in what down and yards to go...get your butt up there!

What an awesome game last night that included the roar of the bleachers as the crowded stands "stomped" in support of the Trojans! The cheerleaders' smiles, energy, and enthusiam were contagious and the band members were really steppin' last night. The excitement of the fans last night was overwhelming. That is hometown football at its best. Good job to all! Lets go get Mary Persons!

well,well,well... I guess those Jags went back to Spalding with a good ol' case of the hush-mouth. That 50 they were talking about must have actully been 50 yards total offense not points. we just mis-understood... Way to go LCCHS Trojans...that is until you play those Pirates...

I agree! W.G. has two papers with sports teams doing good, how about some old fashion sports writing and reporting. You have the ability to do so much for the pride of both communities!

You played with heart and determination. Stay focused; enter every game with the attitude of winning and come out with a victory. The only way to lose any game is by defeating yourself. As a team you all have total control of that. There is no reason you can't have an undefeated season unless you convince yourselves you can't. Set the goal and aim for it. You can achieve it.

I believe the trojans shocked everyone last night. I look forward to the pike lamar matchup this year the most, but the trojans should be prepared cause a blackout is a whole lot scarier than a blue out. Good job lcchs.

If by blackout you means the Trojans knocking Pike's lights out, I agree with you.

Pike barely got out of here alive last year in the final game at Summers Field and they beat up on a Class A school last night and they are already talking smack? I don't know who the Pirates have next but the Trojans play Mary Persons. See you in October.

Wow things sure have changed. I remember back in the early 80's, everyone was betting on who would LOSE instead of win between Lamar and Pike because both of them were pitiful

Good going team. Now let's all put the same effort into useful skills that will allow them to have a future. High school football lasts a few years and then 99% never use them again, but academic skills will last the student a lifetime.

great defense by the trojans! linebacker corps was outstanding! 10, 45, 42, & 14 are amazing against the pass and run. Secondary had everything on lock down. 21 is a replica of Eric Berry. Lamar is looking to be a scary team. They are a play off team no doubt. Mary Persons is real a real team. unlike a class A school(Pacelli). Pike should watch there mouth. those linebackers are looking to pop em' in the jaw. WE ARE LAMAR!!!!! HOOO RAAA!

Eric Berry is my cousin and these sorry Trojans have no one good enough to replicate Eric. So Spalding is not that good so don't kid yourself. It will be a packed house in forsyth and you can bet your sweet britches The bulldogs will top the trojans.
