After a complete and thorough investigation by the Barnesville Police Department and the Lamar County Sheriff's Office, Haley Standridge will not be charged in connection with any of the burglaries. Haley Standridge will be charged with Possession of Marijuana less than one ounce along with all the other suspects in this case.

UPDATE: Barnesville police investigator Al Moltrum reported this morning that Haley Standridge was questioned with regard to this case and subsequently released. However, the sheriff's department has not yet reported her cleared. Her name was included ina news release from the sheriff and her mug shot was released by the sheriff's department.

Picked up in connection with multiple burglaries were (l-r) Stephen DeWolfe, Haley Standridge and Joshua Anderson.

Bet these are WHITE tweakers. IF they were Black burglars, their mug shots would be posted with the article pointing out that fact.
Many disparaging remarks directed toward the neighborhood residents were blogged regarding the burglaries. Do they live near the Rec Center?
This fine newspaper should be consistant when reporting the participants in criminal deeds.
Don't just publish the race of a Black person and omit the race of a White person when a criminal act is reported.

It has been a very long time since I lived in Barnesville but the housing around the Rec area is a predominantly black neighborhood.
You are correct in that the Herald Gazette staff is selective in how local criminals are identified; I think that most readers can assess an individual’s color by looking at their picture. If no photo is available then state “No Photo Available” and then describe the person.
Also good luck with that 4.0 GPA I’m sure that with no child left behind it should be very easy for you to achieve.
I bet your parents are proud of the mouth they have produced in this world. But then again your parents prob. rasied you with the wrong moral values.
However, don't just show the mug shots,
Publish their RAP sheets too(if they have one).
This should be standard practice.

Just about anyone can get a 4.0 GPA at Gordon, heck many 10 year olds that go to schools out of Lamar County (where they are truly expected to excel and not just get by) could graduate from Gordon with honors. Your GPA isn’t anything to be proud of when you show yourself to be nothing but a ridiculous racist like many in the community.

I am not sure how we could be more accurate regarding facts.
I've watched all day as the reporting of this story has changed and grown more complete. As I'm sure you are well aware, most reputable news agencies check their sources and wait until the complete and official information release is available before printing information that may be libelous or hurtful to another. Had the newspaper simply reported initially that three individuals been detained for questioning in regards to the break-ins, that would have been professional journalism. Instead, the H-G has rushed into "print" with incomplete information leading its readers to draw inaccurate conclusions about one of those detained. The paper owes her and her family a public apology and a sincere promise to its readership to do better.
However, this story is listed in 'Breaking News' which means details are constantly being changed/updated/amended/etc.
The headline reads "Rec. dept. burglaries solved; three arrested." As of an hour ago Ms. Standridge (of whom this conversation is about) will, in fact, be charged for possession of marijuana after being arrested. She was released in relation to the burglaries.
We stand by our reporting.
