A call could come at any time and Lamar County Coroner Jim Smith or his Deputy Cindy Killingsworth must respond immediately. In the case of any sudden, unexpected or unexplained death, they must be notified and present before a body is moved. Then the work begins.
"It's not an easy job," said Smith. "When I took the job I was surprised it went so far beyond signing death certificates."
Coroner is more than Dr. Death

I assure you that "thing" will not be notified or present if one of my family members passed away. I will call our family doctor to do what ever needs to be done.

Sure are some awfully judgmental people on here. Aparently you do not know Jim and that he has one of the most compasionate hearts in this county and does take this position very seriously.

people have a political face and a personal face. You may see one side of a person in once sense and someone else may know other things.
