The Flash Foods convenience store at the intersection of Highways 341 and 36 West was robbed late Wednesday night by a man who may have brandished a weapon.

What in the heck is going on down in my old hometown? I can remember when the only crime that was going on was the young kids hanging out on the square at night and being run off by Cicero Green for God sakes! Has my hometown really come to this? Even though I find it very amusing, we all need to be above the Obama comments. He is the problem not the answer. The fine citizens of Lamar county need to stand up together and put an end to this violence before it is too late.

I'll tell you what's wrong. The S.O. or the police keep arresting the same people over and over again and the D.A. and the courts do nothing to put them away. If they don't learn from the mistakes the first time when they get a break - why do they get a second, trird, or more. The problem is at the elected level. That means it's your fault!

I was the asst. manager there 20 years ago when the same shift was robbed. It scared my co-worker pretty bad. The police are there alot but the robber was watching to make sure there was no one around.
All of you are so quick to accuse the clerk of having something to do with it.
11:09 is right after shift change and the 2nd shift person has just left. Same time as 20 years ago.

im in there everynight and shift change is 12, i always have to wait to until the 3rd shift person counts before I can be waited on, and your right the cops are there every night the person had to have been watching for them to leave, this clerk did not deserve this and doesnt deserve the stuid remarks and neither does Lamar countys men and women in uniform, they do a fine job watching out for our retail stores at night, they cant be at all locations 24-7.

I was at the buggy days, and I saw Sheriff Waller and I really fear for that man. He really looks sick. You know he really needs to think about his family first and step down and enjoy what is left of his life. He does't really llok like he is going to be long.
