This year's SAT scores show Lamar County students remained below state averages. However, while Georgia's scores continued to plummet Lamar's are going up.
"The SAT scores are regarded as one of the best measures of a student's readiness to begin college on a positive note – and be successful," said superintendent Dr. Bill Truby. "Here in Lamar County, we saw a significant increase in our average over 2008.
