Items for the Lamar Arts Silent Auction are being received for display at the home of Charles and Jean Dukes,at 530 Thomaston St. The home, built in 1914 by Buggy Baron Walter B. Smith, is the site of the Oct. 1 fundraiser.
Monies from this annual event, along with membership dues, support the many activities of this volunteer organization such as the summer art camp for youth. Members hope the auction will raise funds to supplement the cost of conducting a camp in 2010.
