No one was exempt from the story that seemed to captivate America between 2 p.m. EST and 5 p.m. concerning one little boy and a homemade "balloon," of sorts.

Falcon Heene, a 6-year-old Colorado boy, was thought to have floated off in a homemade balloon - an episode that has now raised question as to whether it might have been an elaborate attention-getting family stunt.

I had a feeling that was the case. The fact that they were on 'Wife Swap' twice through up the first red flag.

I don't know about anyone else but I'm so sick and tired of "reality shows" using children to get better ratings. This little boy was told to do something and he did it and when asked why he wouldn't come out he was truthful...his dad wasn't too happy was he. I don't use my children for ANYTHING, I don't think it's right. I think there needs to be stricter rules regarding children being put on a so called reality show.

Well if this was a hoax on the family's part, they have lost all credibility and I hope the media crosses them off it's short list of attention wh***s- and take Paris Hilton off the list too.

Well, the main problem with this story is the fact that they named their child Falcon. I think thats the first issue that needs to be addressed. See, if his name wasnt Falcon then he would have never attempted to get in the balloon anyways.

I wonder if they will charge the Henne family with giving a false report and make them pay back for the time and money it took for officials to follow the balloon.

It is my hope, that if this is proven to be a hoax, that the family be required to pay for all the time the law enforcement, and rescue persons too to cover this incident. I think this reality stuff is a hoax anyway.

this guy,(the dad)was a real smartass when he was on wife swap,if this is a hoax, he needs to go to jail ,and pay all cost associated with the "rescue attempt".

Isn't Thursday a school day even in Colorado?

I would think the 6 year old Falcon would have been in school rather than hiding for two hours under a cardboard box in a closet.

The family must run a fish market as it smells fishy.

If this was a hoax, there should be prison time for the parents restitution.

Each county has different days set aside for teacher work days, no school district follows the same calendar as every other district in America.

Just because YOUR kids were in school on a particular Thursday doesn't mean that EVERY child had to go to school on that Thursday.

It sure sounds like he was told to do this, when you listen to the clip.

Does reality TV do this to people or are the people nuts before they go on reality TV?

After the Larry King interview, I think it was a hoax. Children should not be exploited for reality shows or any of the "Springer type shows". We need laws to protect them when the parents obviously have an agenda.
