I am a little confused. I just moved nback to the area this summer so I need your help. Did a SPLOST pay for this Fine Arts Center? Was there any money in the SPLOST to help renovate the city of Barnesville. I am amazed at how "trashy" the stretch of college drive looks from the intersection of Holmes St down to the new Pharmacy and new Big Chic. All of the sidewalks need to be re-done and the entrances to Hardees, Giant Mart and B&L are awful. Of course the whole Auto-parts junkyard is an eyesore and JR food mart combined with the old EMC building all need new faces. Everyone talks about how they don't direct people down 36 thru Mill St but they forget to mention this area. We should be using some SPLOST money to make our town beautiful again.

Yes but it was a SPLOST specific for school system projects. The projects that fund went to were specified on the ballot.

I know Scott's proud to be heading the whole operation. I hope it turns out to be a huge success...too bad Gordon will lose revenue b/c folks won't be renting the Fine Arts Auditorium anymore.
