Thursday afternoon the students and faculty of Lamar County High School, Lamar County Middle School, Lamar County Elementary and Lamar County Primary as well as various civic organizations and community groups took to the streets for the annual homecoming parade.

Amazing. This just ended less than an hour ago. I really love how fast this site gets everything up for people to see. Good job. And also, great job to the school system for putting this together for the students!

There is some great energy and commitment being put into the Trojans Athletic Programs right now. I think that region championships in most, if not all, sports are not too far-off in the distant future. All phases are improving -- from the facilities to the overall coaching of the various teams. If a little ole' town like Adel. Ga. (Cook Co.) can produce region & state championships in baseball & football, then there's no reason why it can't be done in Barnesville & Lamar Co.

Lamar Co. has a lot going for it right now, and if the community goes all-out in support of the Trojan's athletic programs, then the championships will come. Good job by the coaches & players!!!

Don't forget about the Jv Trojans who won their game. They are also undefeated.

JV and JV fans had to miss the homecoming parade, but well worth it that was the best JV game of the season they really kept us on the edge of our seats but as always we were victorious 20-12 Lamar Great Job Trojans over Pike Co. Do It Again Next Week!! Thanks for the homecoming pics!!

In this new era of CHANGE, why not change this parade from downtown to the confines of the school campus? Run the parade down Roberta Dr. and end at the football satdium and have all the fun you wish to have. This invasion of downtown by people who have no respect for other property needs to stop. I came through downtown yesterday at 4:45 with a friend from out of town and he asked what the heck was going on. Now I know that that many of you will not have a clue and that is just the point here!

If you have seen 1 prince or princess from a daycare you have seen them all!! That was a little ridiculous! And why do people insist on putting their junk cars or trucks with loud mufflers in parades?

Rednecks playing rap music with police sirens (which is illegal) and revving it wide open just blowing oil out the back. What a bunch of idiots. Same 3 or 4 trucks torture the streets of Barnesville daily.

most of the people that own those trucks are fire fighters.

the owners of those trucks are fire fighters, therefore the sirens are not "illegal". you should be thanking them for serving your community, not bashing them for disrupting it.
