Another suspicious death has occurred in Lamar County - this time at the Deerfield Trace subdivision near the Barnesville-Lamar County Industrial Park.

Coroner Jim Smith identified the dead woman, found early Sunday, as Donna E. Giroux, 49, of 182 Deerfield Trace. Hers is the fourth such death since Wednesday.

I heard a rumor the deputies meesed up the first case by helping one of ladies into bed and then leaving without securing the scene, and she later died and the scene was cleaned up. Anyone else heard that?

And just what would they clean up? Dont be stupid. If I had been that girl and my friend just died, I would have hopped on the back of the ambulance if I had to....not go back to bed.

I heard something like that....I also know they let the families of both women in the house so I dont think they even took the time to clean it like they should....You think if 2 people died in the same house they would not let anyone in it until they found out when the girls died. I mean thats what I would think. One family even took clothes and stuff from the house that belonged to one of them and nothing was said. I think they should have typed off the house and not let anyone in until they come up with something!

It would be nice if they could figure this out...it is getting scary! I heard they thought they were all linked to something being put into drugs going around the county. Anyone heard anything else? 4 bodies in a few days seems alittle odd to not be linked.

Bad meth is what I heard. The guy that made is was apparently caught and maybe in big trouble.

If it was bad meth, I don't agree that the dealer should be charged. Anyone doing chemical drugs has no idea what goes into them. They take a risk everytime they buy and use. It's not the dealer's fault. If they wouldn't have been doing/buying the drugs in the first place (if that is the cause) then they may not have died.

Oh no, the dealer should be charged for every death caused by the poision they sell whether directly or indirectly. If the penalties were more harsh in this country then people would more afraid to do illegal things.

Yeah I agree. Yeah it's there on stupid fault for doing man-made drugs, but the dealer is in some serious trouble and if caught should never leave a jail cell.

"Bad" Meth? Like there is "Good" Meth? Yeah, the dealer should be charged, but if it is Meth related then I don't feel bad for them. They know what chemicals were in the meth they were taking and took that chance.

The dealer should be charged for dealing, not murder, and no one really knows what is in meth, that all depends on who made it..the list is numberous, this is off the internet...and is just some of the stuff used.

Has it ever occured to any of you that the reason Sheriff Waller may not be blowing out rumors is for the families of the victims? I think we need to realize that families are grieving and all the rumors going around town that have not been proven are just making things worse...

If it were your family....I would like to think you would feel the same way.

Law enforcement has to hold back information for many reasons, and keeping back certain aspects of the crime may help when someone is apprehended since they may "slip" and confess to information that has not been previously released.
Also, as mentioned, there is the family to consider.
A journalist's role is to ferret out information, since the public wants to know, and the news agency is trying to give the public what it wants.
John and Jane Q. Public meet in diners and talk on the phone and try to second guess everyone else and make up scenarios as to what REALLY happened and then slam law enforcement and the newspaper for not having figured it out already.
I'd say we're all playing our roles well.
To the family of Ms. Giroux, my condolences.

I think the dealer(s) should be charged with making of the drug but not the murders. Im sure the dealer tried some of it him/her self. May not been as much as the regular users. Anhauser Bush isnt charged for each drinking and driving or alcohol poisioning. You take the risk when you use the product. Lock them up for the manufacturing charge but not the murders.

Some of you are some of the most cold hearted people out there!!!! One of these young ladies is part of my family, She was a Mother,Wife, Sister, Daughter, Aunt, Cousin and Friend. Why don't you JERKS STOP and think about her children and the rest of her family who just recently has went through some of the worst pain in there life and who will have to endure this pain forever and understand how much time it is going to take for them to get their lives as normal as possible!! I pray for all of your souls who have a negative thing to say when one of your fellow neighbors passes away!!! God Be With You All!! I hope that you will find God!!!

a loss. During the time of tragedy, that
is what the hurting families NEED the most!

To think that I thought the country was safer than the city!! What kind of people are being raised down there?? I pray for all the families that are dealing with these tragedies.
