Flint River Technical College and Griffin Technical College select new name for merged college

Southern Crescent Technical College emerged as the unanimous decision for the new name of the combined Flint River Technical College (FRTC) and Griffin Technical College (GTC) by the members of both Boards of Directors in a meeting held January 14, 2009, in Griffin.

Maybe someday Gordon will take their credit hours, but as for now,
you start back at the beginning just as if you got out of high school just yesterday.

I thought that my son was the only one- he took several classes at a state accredited techinical college in Georgia before transfering to Gordon- he made As and Bs in the classes, but Gordon did not allow him to transfer the credits. When he took the classes over at Gordon he said the ones at the techinical school were more difficult and the quality of instruction was better!

People need to know this before investing their time, money and effort. A two year degree from a technical college that in not part of the university system gets you almost nothing but it is a little better than just a GED.

I so agree! Just finished A.A.S in Criminal Justice and when I say know one will accept my credits I mean know one! It sucks!

If you want an education - go to real college. If you already have an education and just want to learn a skill or brush up on some skills, then go to technical school. Do NOT expect technical school credits to transfer ANYwhere. They are not worth the paper they are printed on.
