Obviously it was the kids fault if the driver was NOT charged. They have a crossing guard for a reason. By the way I was young once too and did get hit by a car and broke my leg because I was stupidly impatient and didn't wait for my parents. So I am well aware that kids having stupid moments.
the girl is so amazeing i love that girl i have class with her every day and people do not need to be saing she is a "stupid girl" because none of you no her. she has internal bleeding and it is ashamed that people are sitting here talk about we are stupid when you only know what this article says.
She lived across from the school, she was a freshman, she went back to get some school work and instead of waiting on the crossing guard she chose to go on her own... Last I heard she had some serious head injuries and broke some bones on the lower limbs....
She is expected to be ok...
I fear that this will one day happen here on Hwy 18. If you are ever in that area when school is starting or ending it is amazing how many kids run across the road. Even though the police are there stopping traffic, something bad will end up happening. Just like that wreck that happened last week, only thankfully it was car vs. car. I think some of that SPLOST money should have been used for a crosswalk/traffic light there for school times. Commissioners...are you listening?
first off all the crossin guards do not do their jobs right! every time i pass by there they r always in their car or talkin to someone else. thats prolly why one of them got hit 3 years ago. so no its not always just the kids faught! tht girl is in bad shap and i pray for her and her famlies.......
To #11, How could one of the crossing guards get hit if they were not doing their jobs, maybe before you write something for the general public to see you should have your facts straight. That incident three years ago was due to a driver not paying attention. You may be passing right before or after school traffic is gone, that would be the reason they are posted at those spots, for school, not to impress you.
