The Lamar County Trojans defeated the Pike County Pirates 45-27 Friday night in Zebulon. The win set up a critical matchup here next Friday against Manchester. A Lamar win against a bitter rival would result in the first ever playoff game at new Trojan Field. (video after the jump)

Hope the Trojans can win tonight, yesterday JV lost to Pike JV due to alot of bad calls by the refs against the trojans and we didn't get any calls in our favor they stole our victory yesterday but now It's Payback Time!!!

Pike County refs are horrible... they even cheat on the recreation football teams.

FYI...Pike County has no referees. Refs are assigned by GHSA. empower yourself with knowledge. its a great thing to have...

Congratulate your own players from your own team, fine, but don't call out anyone from the other team. These are students and boys, not grown NFL men.

FYI...smart guy, I have an uncle that refs for GHSA and they do on occasion get the same refs for games..(ex. LC and PC) They may not be from Pike but they could indeed be the same ones that called the previous. Yes, one should empower themselves with knowledge it is a great thing to possess, but in the same sense a mind is a terrible thing to waste. Don't waste it on our website! Please!!!

Why don't you shut up and get off of this BARNESVILLE website then if you want to talk about LC like that. Go to Zebulon.com or whatever. FYI smart guy from pc, you are right the GHSA does assign the refs. But that doesn't mean the refs cheated. We don't know if the referees were from Pike County or not. They are from somewhere. Not saying they are from Pike but you don't know where they are from. LC got cheated twice this week by PC though. JV and Varsity Trojans.

Haha, I was thinking the same thing. Hey smart guy we just felt that there were a lot of BS calls on us and a lot of no calls for Pike. For example, why in the world did we get a sideline penalty for the band who were waiting in their designated area for halftime and how did the refs not see holding when the Lamar player's jersey is stretched 3 feet? People on here that are saying Pike cheated are just upset but there were a lot of questionable calls last night.

its all in good fun..just trying to stir the old rivalry between these two schools. I have seen many bad calls the last few years. there will always be bad ones @ any level of the sport. at one of PCs early games this year there were 6 or 7 refs because the extra guys were in training. I have also seen some of the veteran officials debate for 3 or 4 minutes after a penalty as to where to spot the ball. I have seen refs walk off penalties twice. WTF...I have kin-folk in LC and do pull for LCCHS when they are not playing PC. I was hoping to see any team in this region beat Callaway.

I agree with everyone on the Pike Co Refs. They SUCK and they cheat. Lamar JV Trojans should have won their game but due to the refs
they lost. It was very upsetting and I think the refs should be reported. Heard they were doing the same thing at the varsity game. GOOOO

If the Trojans hold on and beat Pike it sets up a battle for the second seed and a chance to host the first round of the state playoffs next week when the Blue Devils visit Trojan Field.

I just want Lamar County to know that Jadarious McCalla is my cousin and im very proud of him and all of the Trojans,im most proud of those boys because of instead of selling drugs and robbing stores in the community these boys are contributing to the community by competing for the high school and giving the younger kidds in the community somthing to look forward to other than jail or a life of addication and some one to look up to as well,trust me when I say theres a kid walking around Barnesville,Millner etc saying I cant wait to be in high school one day so that I can be a Trojan! Go Trojans and god bless! 0 and keep working hard Joe it will pay off!

i find it odd that when the trojan's lost so bad that they didnt post a story on here of the blowout loss,at least of the community supprt that came to cheer on they're own team.but that they posted a story this time.was the big loss so shameful that the local media and parents of the players of east barnesville which i suspect of practially begging for channel 5 to come, to embarassed to post any kind of article ?

Pike is one of our biggest rivals and we went to their place and stomped them and the refs. Yeah this is story worthy. Stop your whining. Dang there's always somebody out there that wants to complain.
