Animals reported missing over weekend

Several pet owners ended the weekend on a discouraging note with the realization that their beloved pets had gone missing.

Missing since Saturday, a gray and white female cat wandered off in the Zebulon Street area. No other details are available but if you may have spotted this cat please contact 770.584.7572.

Also missing are two beautiful K9 type dogs from 202 Zellner Road.

I hope these people find their pets. Please keep collars on pets with tags that identify who they belong to. Microchipping is another option that can help if a pet is picked up by animal control.

I am good friends with Chad. I have been helping look for the dogs. If you have any information about the where abouts of these animals and cant reach Chad you can contact me at 770-584-8507. Please contact either of us with any information on these great pets. And word to the wise of anyone knowing where these animals are at. One of these dogs are considered a police officer. So you are looking at possible charges if you have abducted these dogs. If you bring the animals back there will be nothing said. Thanks for everyones help already. It is a true testament to the character of everyone in the small town of Barnesville. Please continue to be on the lookout and keep in contact if you happen to see these dogs. Thank you once again.

As a GS owner myself, my heart goes out to the person missing their dogs. I hope you find them soon, they are beautiful.

As a personal "aquantance" of Jimi (he was like a son to me), my heart goes out to you Chad... If there was anything I could do, I would! Word to the wise to anyone who may have him, he is family, not a dog. We protect our own!!!

What about the poor little kitty? Some poor little kitty might be getting cold, wet, hungry, lonely, or having some close shaves with cars. I hope the owner finds the little lost kitty, too.

How can say irresponsible pet owners? What if the dogs were stolen? This is such a shame. Were they last seen at the above address? I saw a flyer posted near where my parents live.

Thank you for your comments. “Jo” you are absolutely right… Jimi was far from a dog in my eyes. For the past two years Jimi and I have done everything together and loosing him was like loosing family. There were plenty of times when Jimi was the only back up I had and I cant even begin to imagine what its going to be like having to go to work without him. The person(s) who shot him took his collar and tags from around his neck and dumped him in a ditch off Rock quarry road several miles from my house. I just cant understand what he could have possibly done to deserve this. I was truly amazed at the number of people, some I have never met before, who helped me search for Jimi when he was missing. I would like to thank each and everyone of you. I would also like to thank dolly good puppy. They helped me so much and are responsible for getting Jimi and Yager’s picture to the HG to be posted on this site. Yager looks as though he has been badly beaten, and starved, but he has returned home. I am offering a $500.00 reward to anyone who can provide me with information that leads to the arrest of the person(s) who abducted and killed Jimi. Thanks again to everyone who helped with the search.

Whoever done these sick things to those to beloved dogs are truly sick people and I must say what goes around comes around and I'm certain there will be hell to pay.

How dare you say “irresponsible pet owners?” You obviously aren’t a pet owner yourself, or you would not be so ignorant to say something that dim-witted. As a friend of one of the pet owners, I can say that the two missing German shephards were in a large, 6 ft tall fence when they went missing during the night; if that is irresponsible then you might need a dictionary to aide you in your vocabulary. The two dogs were found, however, the police K-9 was found dead in a ditch on Rock quarry Rd, several miles from their home, with multiple bullet wounds and missing his collar. The other appeared at a neighbor’s house, alive but famished and dehydrated. Odd, seeing as how the area was searched in a 5 mile radius for 2 days and there are multiple ponds and creeks nearby. The police K-9 will undergo an autopsy and the area where the dog was found will be examined due to the fact that killing a police K-9 is a felony. With that said, I hope that the decent and goodhearted citizens of Lamar County will aid in the search for the person who committed this crime. Please forwarded ANY information to the numbers provided, the Griffin Police Dept. or the Lamar Co Sheriff’s Dept. These dogs were and are not just pets, but also family members and we woud like to thank everyone for all your help in finding them.

Family members don't live outside. Also if they were stolen that is a shame and the comment is not only for the k-9 but also for all that were missing. Also you are the dem wit. It's not a felony because the dog was a police dog. It would have had to been killed in the line of duty. It is a felony if the dog was killed unjustified just as any other dog. and a 6ft fence is not adequate for 2 shephards. So before you comment know what your saying before you quote the law.

What constitutes a person/animal as a family member has nothing to do with where they live BUT how much they were loved. They were not locked away inside the fence and forgotten. Also, you should not presume that the fence was not adequate to house these dogs. You will need more information before jumping to that conclusion. The dwelling has been adequate for the last 2 years.
Finally, Jimi was brutally murdered, that is the felony. #13 was not wrong in saying that it is a felony to kill a police dog but simply overlooked the fact that animal cruelty laws apply to all animals (k-9 or not) O.C.G.A. 16-12-4. I think given the grief suffered by the family, you can give your "fact checking" a break. There is more going on than you know.

I'm willing to match my brothers reward for the information needed to convict Jimi's killer because I know how much he meant to him. The reward offered is now $1,000.

Anyone who would kill a pet is capable of killing a person, in my eyes. This is sickening.
I hope the perpetrator is found.

I'm willing to match Corey and Chad's reward for the information needed to convict Jimi's killer, I dont know personally myself how much Jimi meant to Chad but my wife does. I hope justice is served soon and I'm sorry for your loss. The reward is now $1,500.

i hate to change the subject from these two beautiful dogs, i hate it for the owners. i have recently lost my cat. she is white, bushy gray tail, black ears and a black spot over her left eye. if anyone has any information plz give me a call at 678-634-3084. i live right near the school btw

i live on stafford ave almost directly adjacent to the IC building( the big glass one) in a brick house, she is a mostly white cat with blue eye's. her counterpart reptar is orange and white. any info would be great
