With our own city council vote taking place and the Atlanta mayoral race just up the interstate, many Lamar County residents were not paying attention to the heated gubernatorial races across the country. To recap, there were some heavy hitting elections at hand.
Republican Chris Christie beat incumbent Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine in New Jersey while Republican Bob McDonnell trounced Democrat Creigh Deeds in Virginia. Democrats also prevented a shut-out by winning an upstate New York congressional seat.

Obama & the liberal media duped independent voters into thinking he was a moderate, middle of the road candidate for president. This election shows that independents have wised up to Obama and his rhetoric.

Don't kid yourself. What is really happening is most people are disgusted with both parties. They have both screwed us royally. When I go to the polls, I am voting everyone in office now OUT. I care less what party they are.

In a sense, what you are doing is establishing term limits for members of Congress, which is not a bad idea. It's something that should've been put in Article I of the Constitution when they were writing it. After Roosevelt's terms, the 22nd Amendment was passed, limiting the President to two terms, in an effort to prevent tyranny of the Executive Branch(which is what got us to the Declaration of Independence, and then ultimately the Constitution). But now we have tyranny from the Legislative Branch. Funny how Congress hasn't been interested in imposing term limits on themselves.

I agree with you about Obama - but not Waller. He ran on the Republican ticket, not the Democratic. Larry has more knowledge and more decency than we have seen in a while. He doesn't run his job in the newspaper and tries to follow the law so that his cases will not be thrown out when they go to court.

Your right about one thing there is a huge treat to the nation and it is the Right. They have screwed things up for long enough. If it were up to them we would have the futile system as our form of government.

Easy to forget who ws running things when the recession started, isn't it? Easy to forget what party mainly drove the deregulation that allowed Wall Street to screw the whole world out of investments. Easy to forget what party raised taxes on the middle class while cutting taxes on the rich for years.

If you voted for Bush..especially the second term, it is time for you to sit back and eat crow. Obama caused all this mayhem since January? I guess thats how people deal with guilt..project it onto others.

Agreed. How about term limits for liberals. The big five - which do liberals hate most : tax cuts, term limits, oil drilling, Sarah Palin or Ronald Reagan ? The Bushes were no Reagans and sent the party on a downward skid.
