Two Lamar countians deployed with the 48th Brigade in Afghanistan were among those meeting with Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue who is visiting with troops there.

I have known Glen since LCCH and just wanted to say how proud we are of him and Rusty.Our prayers are with you and we can't wait until you are home safe again. Thank you for all that you are doing.

Im with #2 the state is broke,supposdley and the gov is flying half way around the world.WAIT, I know he took the lamar IDA with him to bring back business. I know its a drop in the bucket for him to go but to me it shows a bad image in this economy when he's cutting back every service in the state.

Gov. Perdue did not. Obama did. Cut law enforcement, dmv officer, animal control officer and public workers. 180,000 jobs loss. $10 tillion in 11 years. Obama did.

As with any business, if it is not making money or being productive, then you must cut back. The State government and local government made the decision to cut back because the funding were not there to keep those jobs. And the money is not there for us to keep on living like we were used to living. We as Americans have taken a lot of things for granted and we want more and more each year.
