All these magic tricks are crazy. When it's all over and done with it will still come down to the same thing. Both sides of the story will be told and the court will have to make a decision. Get on with it! Get it over with!
Let him waste all his money on fancy lawyers and other 'experts'. I just hope that he doesn't get the jury pool changed to all his black friends so that he can get off. What he did was wrong. So what that he's a law enforcement officer. He was not on duty, not in his jurisdiction, and not acting in an official capacity at the time. According to GA law someone's life had to be in immediate danger to justify his actions. Hunting on private property doen't qualify. I hope that after all this hooplah he gets what he deserves. Unfortunately he's one of those kind that will drag out appeals from now till the end of the world.
That might be true #4 but as soon as it's over, the rules and the outcome are subject to change. Look what happened with the former municipal judge here. He's out and free from all of the things done in his little crime spree. Good people convict and then our judges set them free. I wouldn't be surprised to see HA sue for back pay. As for this Worthy cat, the judge in his case should grab this case and proceed...wink at him and assure him that all of it will be overturned soon anyway.
I do not know whether Worthy is guilty or not, but he is certainly correct in his claim that there are problems with our grand jury selection process. The same people are called again and again, sometimes more than once a year. It would be a shame if the failure of our judicial officials to do this correctly allows a guilty person to go free.
he's gonna walk.he knows the good ol boy network is back in place, and who to deal with.this is all just a bunch of show-boating,and a waste of tax payers money.
This thing will never be tried impartially on either side. The best thing that could happen would be for it to be moved to a town way off where nobody knows either of them for the sake of the jury and judge. It's just a waste of time and money at this point all the way around . . .
I believe this case is simple. There was a misunderstanding. I do not believe the chief intended to harm to the young man or that the young man intended to harm the chief. Some times when property lines are not marked, people can end up on the wrong side of the line and not realize it. Save the taxpayers some money by shaking hands, have lunch or dinner and call it a day.
Even if the man thought he was on the right property, forcing someone to the ground with a loaded gun pointed at them sounds like a little more than a handshaking "misunderstanding" to me!
I pick Obama over war-criminal Bush any day..at least the majority was able to vote for the president this time. No supreme court ruling was needed..lol.

"Judge Tommy Wilson heard testimony on several motions filed by embattled Morehouse police chief Vernon Worthy Nov. 12 in Lamar superior court."
Worthy was accompanied by no less than six attorneys and a statistician/demographer/jury consultant who addressed implied bias in the composition of the county grand and traverse jury pools."
Open your eyes People. Remember every time "da chief" goes to court....it is on your dollar.

He knows what is coming and is trying every hat trick available in hopes something will stick and save his greasy butt.
Let us all pray!
