It was 4 a.m. Things had finally slowed down a little in the ER. I was sitting at my desk writing up a chart on the last patient.
Just then I heard a nurse at the nurse’s station behind me talking to a respiratory technician about her niece. It was a common story.

The tax payer is being held hostage of what it takes to raise the children of ill responsible parents. It’s both the liberal “anything goes” and conservative puritan mind set that’s contributing to this family planning disaster. Since our society as yet to evolve to where this is not a major problem, we should consider the natal solution and provide free birth control for those yet to be able to handle such a major responsibility. It’s far less expensive and tragic this way don’t you think?
