I can't believe it--I actually agree with something this guy wrote! Normally, his columns offend me and go against my beliefs, but I'm really impressed this time.
I also agree that both contributors of what it takes to bring a child into this world should be held financially responsible. What he didn’t say and needed to be said was countless people are bringing children into this world that have no business doing so. Abstinence does not work except for those “who do” have the self discipline and very few young people have it once the hormones start to rage. Birth control should be made readily available to those who ask for it. Young people are getting married that have yet found a sense of self where they know how to give of themselves in order to really know what love is. They bring children into the world before their marriage is really a go. Children are brought into the world before consideration by the couple of what it takes financially, as well as, the degree of personal responsibility.
The tax payer is being held hostage of what it takes to raise the children of ill responsible parents. It’s both the liberal “anything goes” and conservative puritan mind set that’s contributing to this family planning disaster. Since our society as yet to evolve to where this is not a major problem, we should consider the natal solution and provide free birth control for those yet to be able to handle such a major responsibility. It’s far less expensive and tragic this way don’t you think?
Thanks!
