Murder suspect arrested in Pike allegedly slit man's throat

I wanted to post a driver alert to highten awareness. The mating season for deer is starting to begin. Hunters know this time as the rut. Drivers, however, face a much higher chance of a collision with deer during this time. The rut is exciting for hunters since most consider it the very best time to try for that dream deer. I could explore all the different phases and theories. What is important is that drivers understand that this makes deer movement spike significantly. Everone will begin to see deer in places thought unlikely. If you see one deer, it's likely that there will be others close behind. I'll give you an example. Last year a deer crossed the road in front of me at a dead run. I slowed almost to a stop. Just seconds behind her, another deer crossed at the same spot. Also at a dead run. This morning we responded to an accident involving a deer. no one was hurt, but the driver's truck was damaged badly. I attached photos to show what drivers and their vehicles are up against. Up to 200 lbs of animal that has sharp hoofs and antlers, on males, called bucks. Personally we hunters would much prefer to see a buck like this from a stand or blind. The best rule is that if you see a deer slow down or stop. Then slow way down. Treat if as if a herd will be running across the road.
