For the first time in three and a half years, former Barnesville municipal judge Henry Abreu is a free man and no longer under the supervision of the criminal justice system.
Abreu was freed from incarceration last week after months of treatment at Central State Hospital (CSH) in Milledgeville. Doctors there concluded Abreu’s solicitation of sex acts from a nursing home employee which resulted in his most recent arrest were the result of a stroke and subsequent condition that impaired his judgement and those charges have been dropped.
Additionally, a judge in the Ocmulgee circuit where CSH is located vacated the one felony charge for which Abreu was on probation, freeing him from the control of the judicial system.

I don't always think the justice system fails, but in this case I do think this man has gotten some preferential treatment.
I'll certainly remember this at the next election.
Seems like I remember someone else had a stroke recently. Carries a badge and gun as I also recall.
Hmmm, the things that make you hmmm.
Please post another story as I am tired of looking at the ugly, ugly face of this so call outstanding citizen of Lamar County.
Enought is enought to have to see his mug everytime I read your web site.
Thanking you in advance.
Our DA initially got in office because he was appointed. He lost the election in Lamar the last time, but since we share him with two other counties he ramains in office.
HA also made numerous sexual advances to women around town. Despite his history two local political figures worked to get him out of jail when he was busted trying to take advantage of your daughter and friend. He has been doing this stuff for years, long before he ever had medical issues.
HA either knows just how far to take it or he has the goods on local people from some of his parties. Our DA is what we all know he is and we are stuck with him.
