Finally someone in Europe is willing to draw a line in the sand, for their people to make a decision.
In some ways I feel like Islam is being slammed down alot of persons throats, though they do not wish to be a part of it.
Minarets: A tall slender tower attached to a mosque, having one or more projecting balconies from which a muezzin summons the people to prayer.
All it means is the people who voted this tower down did not want their community disrupted by the noise. This is not a stand against a particular religion, although, I do take issue with the Islamic views on women’s rights and the exclusive nature of their theology. In my opinion, when a religion brings restricted separation within a populous it’s not a step in the right direction. We are in this mess together and collectively will be the only way we can move forward.
This has more holes in it than Swiss cheese. They didn't take a "stand against Islam".
It is a mostly a noise or zoning issue. They don't want people hooting and hollering from ten stories up at all hours. It's not much different than restricting the hours a church can play loud chimes, or limiting the height of a spire.
