Robert Neal Devane has won the ward four city council runoff election 112-97.
Results will be certified later in the week. There are five provisional ballots but those will not impact the outcome.
Only 212 voters cast ballots, a turnout of 28.6%.
Devane will take office January 1, 2010

Ya'll are morons for voting this clown

This was already established and people started back pedaling. The city got scared because a black man was getting kicked off of the voulunteer fire team because he didnt follow the rules that were in place. The guy ofcourse pulled the race card out and slammed it down on KR desk. At this point KR , just like the rest of a bunch of white people, got so terrified of lawsuits and idiots marching and hollering he decided he better get rid of Neal instead.
The deal about the paperwork not getting entered was faulty computers that the city provided for the station.
Good job for Neal to look into.......
Everyone should chill out and let Neil do his elected job without rumors. He will establish his own public record and doesn't need help doing it.
I'm sure Neil will do the very best job he possibly can, and I'm sure he will divest himself of any conflicting employment and not tell anyone anything that is not public record.
Why not give it a rest and let the man fill his elected position and establish his own record? It is something he seems to have really wanted to do, so give him a chance. If you didn't want to see him elected, you should have voted or promoted the other candidate.
By the way, was there another person running? I think Neil ran against himself. Everywhere I drove and looked all I saw was Neil. I saw him more than Luther this past month. :-)

You have a theft on the council, with Hightower, a person that allows drug dealers to sell on his property, and even sell them there little bags for them, But I don't hear anyone talking about that, if you want to talk get out and vote next time or just shut up..
And yes.. they sell "jewelry bags" in their establishments. Probably scales too.
just look down Rail Road street and you will see them in his car wash, behind his apartments, and standing around the lot with the tree. So why can't the police Department charge him, with allowing another to violate state law, since he is allowing this to happen, oh, I forgot he tells the police who they can mess with and who they cant.
So I quess their hands are tied, until they call the GBI in or NTF from the state not local, you call the local NTF and you get your case dismissed.
Okay chew on that for awhile.
The people that stabbed ND in the back know who they are, but it is the people of Barnesville who should really be ashamed because they allowed it to happen. Now they all need to shut up and let him do a job that he was elected to do. And if he proves differently, there is always another election, or a recall if it got ugly.
