Hmmmm....Isn't it illegal to post pictures of injured people before they are identified as a result of an accident or otherwise? Especially if the person is being treated on by EMS in the picture?
I live on Brook Road also. People drive entirely too fast on this road every day. Even the bus driver goes too fast. I'm glad my kids don't ride the bus.
This is the 4th wreck that has happened by my house in the past year. There are children in this area and also a daycare across the street from Bethel Baptist church. I can't believe the speed limit is 45 on this road with the curves and children in the area. Please lower the speed limit before someone gets killed. I have had to pull over on the side of the road in the grass to avoid a head on collision from people going too fast and ending up in my lane , coming out of these curves. Enough is enough....
I live on Crawford and travel on Brooks. It's amazing to me how fast people take those two bad curves toward the 700 block area. If this woman has lived here since 2006 then she knew the curves were there. She is very lucky to be alive and even more blessed to not be hurt anymore than she was. Hopefully others will pay attention and slow down. It doesn't cost the county that much to post a lower speed limit in those areas and more warnings about the curves ahead. I'm sure the county barn already has plenty of signs in storage that they could use. Somebody talk to the county commissioners about lowering the speed limit before someone dies from their lead feet.
You would think after they put up those signs on the curve it would of slowed some down. Most of the ones speeding do not even live out here. What will it take to get people to slow down. Glad this lady wasn't seriously hurt.
An accident that didn't have to happen. My house is at the end of one of these curves. Just this morning I have heard and seen 9 vehicles accelerate going around this curve. During the summer around 8:30pm I was sitting here in my home watching tv and a 17 year old boy lost control going around the curve. Broke through my neighbors fence and then through mine. Thank God he hit my telephone pole or he would have ran into my house. Trying to get away, he ran through my front fence. His truck had extensive damage and busted radiator so he left it and tryed to get away. Lamar county was here within minutes. They found him walking up another road not far from Brook road. Oh yeah, he claims he was texting and that is what caused the wreck. Lamar county found a 12 pack sitting on the passengers seat. He had just moved here from up north to live with his mother. When my grandchildren visit now, I make sure they play on the back property of the house and I do not allow them to cross the street to get the mail. It wasn't always like this on Brook road. With people buying propery and building houses in this area, I noticed a big change within the past 3 years as far as speeding and it is only getting worse.
the curves or the posted speed isnt the problem. It is 100% because people arent focused on what they are doing. You can make it down that road and any other road in georgia while doing the posted speed limit. You could take the curves on brook rd going 65 if you were alert and aware. I was young at one time so im know. :)
50 percent of the people driving are not in their right minds today. Usually their mind is attached to a cell phone dangling at the end of an arm or stuck in an ear.
if you were in the right car you could ride the entire Walton Rd at over 45 mph. They make excellent aftermarket suspension and tirs now days you know. You have to pay attention though.
Sometimes when there is a 1 vehicle accident. If they would check the cell phone records of the person. That may explain why she ran off the road.Text messaging isn't good either while driving down the road.I see it all the time.
