Party pooper! Jesus was a simple man but drew large crowds everywhere he went even rode in on a donkey I do believe. Nothing wrong with santa Its all about what he teach your children...
I am really sorry you feel this way. I would like to invite you to Rock Springs Church (sincere invitation friend). I think you would feel differently by the time you leave. If not...you will have spent an hour with some of the warmest people in Georgia, heard the best music and choir singers anywhere and will have smiled at a story Pastor Benny will share. Nothing to lose, everything to gain...
I was at the Christmas production and from the 3 different times the play was presented, over 40 souls were saved. That is what CHRISTmas is about. I would like to thank Ricky Sheppard for directing such a spectacular show with such wonderful meaning. It was hard work I am sure but the outcome was so worth it. To GOD be the Glory!! Merry CHRISTmas to all of you!
Once again Rock Springs has gone over the top. A simple Christmas program just isn't good enough. If they don't put on an elaborate extravaganza then they won't be able to keep up with some other mega show church. Well if that doesn't keep them the center of attention they'll just bring the governor back. Speaking of our beloved liar Sonny, I would be ashamed to be referred to as his 'personal spritual advisor'.
Rock Springs has a place in society and is in a position to do much good. So I DO NOT JUDGE anyone that chooses to be a member.
However, I have been invited to this church multiple times. One main reason I am hesitant to attend is due to the anointing of political leaders such as Sonny. For me, church should be about God and Jesus. The Catholic Church began this practice by issuing the Divine Right of Kings. I personally feel that Jesus should not be used to push a political agenda.
IF a church is guilty of this, to me it is tantamount to using the Lords name in vain by bestowing false authority upon a political leader. It is not enough to call oneself a Christian to get my vote.
However, no one church is perfect. And the good produced by a church hopefully outweighs any negative qualities. As for me, I will keep looking.
I would like to start off by saying I am NOT a member of Rock Springs Church, but my family and I attend Sunday services regularly. If you have not been to Rock Springs how can you post anything negative or positive about the church or the work it does? There are so many wonderful projects this church has to offer. Like a FREE health clinic to anyone, not just members of the church, a "half-way house" for women, to help those that are addicted to drugs and alcohol a chance to start over and get their lives back.(oh, and that's free too)Free counciling for depression, grief and family problems. The church is not some so called "Mega Church" nor does it try to be. It has a large amount of attendants, but everyone is treated like a christian not a paycheck. Pastor Benny, for those who have not had the pleasure of meeting him, is the most humble, caring and god fearing man I have ever meet. He is not trying to "show off" or make others envious by having a spectacular Christmas program. The church has been blessed with the opportunity to host a brilliant Christmas program in the name of our Lord, and that is exactly what they did. Rock Springs does not confuse politics with religion, and unless you attended the Sonny Perdue's assembly how would you know what was addressed. I am begging those who are interested in Rock Springs to PLEASE diregard the negativity in some of these post and visit Rock Springs. I personally promise you will find what you are looking for.
