It's that time again - time to make your New Year's resolutions. This being an election year, one resolution in particular is especially apropos - making your vote count. But how, exactly, do you go aout doing that? It's easy. I'll explain.
First of all, it's vitally important to understand that 2010 is no ordinary election year. The votes you cast this year will contribute to the enhancement or diminishment of your quality of life and that of every American for years, if not decades, to come. As America moves ever closer to outright socialism under the current administration, this year's elections could prove the most important in recent electoral history. Will Americans reject the agenda of the socialist juggernaut in Washington and restore the conservative values that made this the greatest and most unique nation in the world or will it stay the course and allow big government to continue usurping power at the cost of individual rights and liberties? Well, we'll just have to wait until this year's votes are counted to know for sure.

"The Democrats are the party that says government will make you smarter, taller, richer, and remove the crabgrass on your lawn. The Republicans are the party that says government doesn't work and then they get elected and prove it."
We all benefit from government programs, and the state as a whole suffers when government is cut. If Georgia, children die. In Georgia, families suffer. In Georgia, people lose their homes. That't what happens when people elect a government that blames some wacko socialist menace for all their problems.
If you believe that we are the government, then you also have to believe that cutting it hurts, just as cutting out a major organ would hurt.
If you believe that you are not the government--that you do not have sovereignty over your own life because of government--then please wake up. Your life is the product of your accumulated decisions, and you cannot blame the government if you are down on your luck or decided not to complete high school or whatever.
I hold that we are all the government, and yes, our vote counts. You are at best naive, however, if you believe that you are not happy in your life because of the government.
I turned 18 in 1973, the year that young people my age were eligible to vote. I understood that this was my privilege and my right and have not missed an election of any sort since.
My father and grandfather both served in the military, my daughter currently serves this country, and I would not dishonor them by not going to the polls.
My candidate or the issue I believe it does not always win, but I do believe my single vote is my voice.
If you don't vote, then you have no right to complain.
By the way, Spencer, you're a little too conservative for my tastes, but you live in the U.S. and have the right to express your views. And that's not true in many places in the world.
There is your problem.
ps yeah I know - the grammar thing
For this he pays nothing, and nothing is required of him. He lives in a nice neighborhood in a house that is much larger than he needs, but he is not required to do any upkeep.
If he makes a mess, someone else cleans it up. He has his choice of luxurious places to sleep. He receives these accommodations absolutely free.
He is living like a king, and has absolutely no expenses whatsoever. All of his costs are picked up by others who go out and earn a living every day.
I was just thinking about all this, and suddenly it hit me like a brick in the head, Hey… my dog is a Democrat!
It's called political humor.
The Pope took a couple of days off to visit the rugged mountains of Alaska for some sightseeing. He was cruising along the campground in the Popemobile when there was a frantic commotion just at the edge of the woods. A helpless Democrat, wearing sandals, shorts, a 'Save the Whales' hat, and a "DOWN WITH BUSH' T-shirt, was screaming while struggling frantically and thrashing around trying to free himself from the grasp of a 10-foot grizzly.
As the Pope watched in horror, a group of Republican loggers came racing up. One quickly fired a .44 magnum into the bear's chest. The other two reached up and pulled the bleeding, semiconscious Democrat from the bear's grasp. Then the three loggers finished off the bear, and two of them threw it onto the bed of their truck while the other tenderly placed the injured Democrat in the back seat.
As they prepared to leave, the Pope summoned them to come over. 'I give you my blessing for your brave actions!' he told them. 'I heard there was a bitter hatred between Republican loggers and Democratic environmental activists but now I've seen with my own eyes that this is not true.'
As the Pope drove off, one logger asked his buddies 'Who was that guy?' 'It was the Pope,' another replied. 'He's in direct contact with Heaven and has access to all wisdom.'
'Well,' the logger said, 'he may have access to all wisdom, but he doesn't know squat about bear hunting! By the way, is the bait still alive, or do we need to go back to Massachusetts and get another one?"
That's OK though. I know it's difficult for you to think and push buttons at the same time.
So, you've been picking them up and calling them republicans, you say? Tell me then; which is the clean end?
If they voted for the Healthcare reform bill, they will NOT get my vote. I worked in the medical field in the Administrative arena and dealt with the government Ins co's to know, that I do NOT want them to be my Ins carriers or my current plan to be "mirrored" by them! Wake up folks!
I think it is a travesty that there is not a plan for these people because of lack of funding and that there are not more doctors who feel called upon to help. I am thankful for the few doctors that do.
Just because the system is not perfect does not mean it should not exist. It does far more good than people want to recognize. And even more of a need for reform.
When you personally encounter the people that do not have health care and hear their story..I dont know of a person whos heart does not cry out. Not all of them are too lazy to work. Most of the people I see work 40 hrs a week but just cant afford it.
It is ironic that so many people place so little value on life. They don't understand doing nothing costs us at least the same amount of money, if not more, than doing the right thing.
Can you imagine Jesus walking around refusing to help others if it takes a penny from his purse?
(as Mister Obama promised over a dozen times
ALL ON VIDEO).
Why would we want the American people to see the real shady deals we are making?
We democrats don't want you "real" Americans
to see how sausage is made.
No Republicans Allowed, No Cameras Allowed,
No Transparancy Allowed What-SO-ever !!!!!
If this is not tyranny, then what is?
Transparancy should be LAW!
I feel that you are conveniently forgetting history. How many times in the past have you actually taken time out of your day to investigate what your leaders are up to PRIOR to Obama taking office?
Transparency should have been the law for the last 8 years. Why are we in Iraq again? But I guess that certain people have decided that NOW its time to pay attention to what our President is doing..funny because our current President is not responsible for the mess he is cleaning up but he is conveniently getting the blame.
And who made you the deciding authority on what constitutes a "real" American?
Look over here not over there.
That's what you dems are good at.
Blame Bush, Blame Bush, Blame Bush.
Ain't this getting kinda OLD???
At least Bush / Cheney had some 911 security reasons (excuse)for their secrecy.
Did Bush ever say over and over and over,
TRANSPARANCY?
Didn't think so.
It WAS Obama's mantra for the last 18 months.
Let's talk about that timespan of history.
No! You want to talk about Bush, again...
So go ahead, kick that dead horse "again" so hopefully no one will notice more Obama lies ..
Just watch the teleprompter.
You should give our current President the same courtesy and respect you believe Bush deserved. Bush was not above telling lies, withholding information, leading us into false wars resulting in the deaths of our brave soldiers. But it was UNPATRIOTIC to question him. I suppose now that Obama is in office, public dissent has become patriotic again. Funny how that works.
Also, since you want to dismiss Bush's role in the CURRENT mess, perhaps you could be a little more understanding of the job Obama has in cleaning it up.
Let's talk about the past, blah, blah, blah.
You know the Democratic playbook very well:
1. Divert attention from _(Fill in the blank)
2. Don't directly answer the main question.
3. Attack the questioner-i.e. question their motives
4. Blame Bush
Is Everthing wrong Mr. Bush's fault.
What about the current democratic controlled
congress that has been in office since 2006?
Wake me up when we get back to reality.
Why can't you just admit there is no tranparancy when Obama promised there would be.
What happened to that?
That was my main question.
Stay on task here.
When Can we talk about the current administrations
"Change you can believe in" NOW?
I'll give Mr. Obama the same chance you gave Mr. Bush.
Funny how that works.
I do not agree with your assessment that Obama has back tracked on his promise on more govt transparency based solely on your claim that health care debate should be televised. What a joke.
Google "Obamas Open Government Directive"
Does that answer your question? Or do I need to do more research for you so you dont jump to any more hasty conclusions?
But don't try and change the subject, or avoid the question at hand.
Obamas open Govt. directive is exactly what he
is NOT Doing.
Thank you for making my point.
Try this web page on for size:
http://www.breitbart.tv/how-dare-they-cnns-cafferty-rips-obama-for-failed-openness-pledge/
Please do send more research, snd I will read it.
But don't expect me to just add water and drink
the kool-aid without asking what it is.
Researcg? I can find research in physics that elephants can fly but that don't make it true.
Better get off the kool-aid and come back to reality.
And for 11.1.1...
You have already made up your mind on this man and nothing he can say or do will change it.
If he is not transparent enough, you will complain. If he allows more transparency, it will be too much and some will complain that the terrorists will use it against us. He cannot win with some people.
Recovery.gov, USAspending.gov and data.gov go much further than ANY previous administration. It may not be exactly what you have demanded and he could probably do more (but like I said, there is no pleasing some people). I think the man has his hands full as it is.

Good night.
Being that you are so smart about Onamanomics. Please point out just one truth that he hasn't countered on. Remember him saying there would be no more earmarks? The first bill he signed had more earmarks attached to it than any other in history.
