Barnesville-Lamar County has entered the deepfreeze and will stay there for awhile as unusually cold temperatures will dominate the local forecast for the next week.
Overnight lows are not expected to climb above the freezing mark until January 12. Lows in the mid to low 20s are forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
Runt the Lab had a coat highlighted with ice after chasing four Canada geese across a local pond during her morning walk Tuesday. It was about 20 degrees when she dove in.

























With the trend like it is so far though I predict we may be in for an interesting winter here.
