1) Set up your homestead as a 501(c)3
2) Invite your friends and neighbors over on a weekly basis
3) Convince (or convict, whatever) them of the good that is done in your home
4) Ask them to make tax-deductible donations to you, your home, and your mission within your home

Putting faith and trust in the Lord has little to do with real estate, mortgage payments, and financial blessings unless the use of those funds is a divine calling. I do hope that Potter's House uses its building and funding to truly answer an assumed divine calling. Potter's House is billed a counseling center for drug addicted women. I am pretty sure it will end up as a "washed in the blood," "saved by grace,"prayed out of misery," sort of place and that, too, is fine if it is, in fact, the calling of the facility.

However, when a church finds the funds to purchase property it is my opinion that it be considered a breach of the separation between church and state and that church now becomes a "for profit" venture unto which proper taxes are assessed. "Render unto Caesar," I say.

I agree with you 'Servant,' people being saved and accepting Christ as their personal Lord and Savior is a God thing. I doubt it had to do with Benny's preaching on tithing though. That message typically sends people writhing away, not signing up for more.

WOW. Thank you 'Servant.' Not only did you affirm my belief in the Potter's House being a "prayer will set you free" rehabilitation clinic which substitutes all clinical medicine with "the Word of God dawn until dusk" but you also negated most research that shows the success of drug rehab programs. And if that weren't enough you took it upon yourself to insult me by saying my brains would fall out of my head. Thank you for that. I am sure it was written in godly love and concern.
