It seems that AARP no longer stands for American Association of Retired Persons. It is nothing more than four letters that read a brand, AARP.

Well that's what business is all about, trying to make money.
I dropped my AARP membership, but that's because it scared me when I would get my monthly magazine and would see who was on the cover.
Besides when times get tough, one has to decide what luxuries one has go forego.

AARP becomes rich sponsoring health care through United Health Care. United Health Care CEO becomes billionaire selling insurance through AARP to seniors. This kind of profiteering on health care is the area that needs reform. Does anybody have info on salaries of AARP executives? I'm betting that the amount lining their pockets exceeds the amount they have saved seniors. They're a for profit business like any other.

Yeah, I dropped my membership too.
When I saw them on the television saing they did not endorse any bills like the new health care plan, saying they were independant.
Then next thing you know, they were endorsing it. But I just believe they are another arm of the govt that already has too many arms.
They have left their roots, thats why they are losing its members.

Our government is corrupt and now wants to drag organizations into the corruption. Even a respectable organization paid for by the people to be their voice and stand up for them. AARP was once a supporting organization but has got in bed with corruption now. It’s time the people let them go. When they have no members they will have no organization and then even the corrupt government won’t have anything to do with them. It just goes to show that when you sacrifice your principals for money; you will eventually lose. I don’t know how AARP can regain the respect of the people again. They sold out.

According to the above article...

It seems that they are cutting SUBSIDIES to insurance companies.

Now correct me if I am wrong but if this is a "free market"..should the govt be interfering in business anyway? Should the govt be providing these subsidies in the first place? What do you say Repubs?

This shows how well the insurance industry and others making big money from the present health system have managed to taint the minds of the public. Many fools think cutting subsidies to insurance companies and instead paying the benefits to the taxpayer is cutting Medicare!

Big business $$$ rules our world.

I'm retired,have been so for a while. I feel that the organization doesn't speak for me or my beliefs. I just don't join. They are free to do whatever they want with their business. Just throw away their material.

By the way, Canis rufus is a red wolf. Major refers to the fact that I am bigger than the smaller sub species. There is no need to remove my comments as you did before. I haven't said anything bad. If you checked what I said before it was removed, you would see I am correct.
