SWA passes resolution condemning C&D landfill

The Lamar County Solid Waste Authority has passed a resolution condemning plans by E.T. Carlyle Co. to site a construction and demolition landfill on a 312-acres site off Possum Trot and High Falls Park roads in northeast Lamar.

Does this mean there will be no landfill? Do you know any other steps ET Carlyle might take?

Sure sounds that way to me. Apparently all that energy wasted in the courts was just that; wasted energy. And money too.

Is this photo what is currently located in our Industrial Park in Milner? Gosh, I hope not. I have never been to the local landfill but I had no idea it looked like that.

That is exactly what it looks like. Best part is, most of the trash there COMES FROM OTHER COMMUNITIES!

Yep, Lamar County is the trash can for places like Spalding County!

absolutely not the cedar grove landfill is a beautiful site that four men work very hard six days a week to keep it maintained.You can bring trash out on a rainy day and not get your shoes muddy.

Work Very Hard???... Sounds like Anon 07:13 PM might be mistaken. I've been out there on a couple of different occasions and seen trucks stuck in mud up to their axels... You would'nt happen to be employed there would you 07:13?
