There is a group of guys from around the Georgia that make up a couple of BBQ teams. Many of us had the opportunity to meet Wayne two years ago at the Barnesville BBQ and Blues. Wayne hung out with us until the wee hours in the morning sharing his gift of music, stories, and his blessings. When we came back the next year, we all hoped to be able to see him again, and sure enough, after we got set up, here came Wayne. He said that it had been a rough year medically, but he was the same free spirit; and once again, he took charge of the evening and played and sang until morning. Over the years we have all told "Wayne stories" and there isn't a bbq competition that goes by that we don't remember him and his flute. We have decided to make a donation in his name to a Barnesville school music program. If the family could help us identify the appropriate school it would be much appreciated. Several of us have prayed with Wayne, and I am certain that God and the angles are tapping their feet to his flute playing. May God bless his family and friends. I know they are better for knowing and loving him.
