Based on statements made during jury selection and at a Jackson-Denno hearing on the admissibility of two statements he made to the GBI, it appears Ronald Eugene Smith's defense team will attempt to frame the shooting of Charles Graves Adams as an accident.

I was told by a recently freed inmate of Lamar County, that Smith's story was that him and Adams were high on methamphetamine and while unloading the rifle, the bullet jammed and the bolt action fired shooting Adams in the face. Also claiming that Smith was an ex-sniper for the Marines and could have shot Adams from a mile away.

I found that interesting.

He was not a Marine sniper. He was dishonorably discharged from what I understand... for drugs I believe. It is also my understanding that Adams wasn't even the meth dealer... it was his roomate and Adams took the bullet. People do crazy things when they are high and desperate, and its a damn shame that this man had to lose his life over someone else's bad decision. A life of bad decisions will get you stuck in the defendants chair at a murder trial.

Dang. I'm sure Adams had family somewhere, meth head or not. Is this really a professional way to phrase this?

oh Lord, he has got ms. johnson as a lawyer. please pray for him. he is in trouble from the get go.

lets hope all the facts come out in the case and justice prevails for each party involved. amen.

I have been following this from the day it happened. You don't just accidentally shoot someone in the face with a high powered rifle, high or not. If he was high on meth at the time he is still responsible for his actions and should accept the judgment of the court when it comes. To say the firearm accidentally discharged is hearsay because Mr. Adams is not here to defend that statement.

To: Associates Residing on the Ronald Eugene Smith's Team, or (ARREST). There is an open spot on the Comedy Channel for you. Let me get this straight: This CONVICTED FELON, accused of MALICE MURDER, FELONY MURDER, AGGRAVATED ASSAULT, POSSESSION of a FIREARM by a CONVICTED FELON, and TAMPERING with Evidence accidentally shot his METH MATE in the FACE with a 30-6 RIFLE in a meth deal gone bad.

IS this clear enough to show you how STUPID ARREST looks to any Juror with a full set of chromosomes?
