Sounds like he is getting dragged into the current situation from something that happened awhile back. Scapegoat. Looks like that entire BOE needs to be cleaned out.
He was a dynamic, young leader in Barnesville-Lamar County. We need more teachers and principals like him who are interested in students actually learning instead of playing the politics associated with the educational system.
Mr Bacon i was in High School when he was the principal here him and Ms Standard i think he had something to do with that case that happened here with the teacher and student he was at grffin high school whats going on with Bacon nobody wants him
I worked with this man. There's very little that they could say that he has done that would surprise me. He had a great facade for the community but this guy was and evidently still is trouble.
he was a joke when i was in high school. he was too friendly with the students.not a mature adult at all.letting your students hang out at your home is not something a principal should do.good decision bibb county!
I Remember when Mr. Bacon came to LC. He was way to over friendly with students. He was very Immature and comments he made towards some students were completely inappropriate. Nothing that he does would surprise me honestly.
MO if trying to get overly friendly with students, having them hang out at your house, and making inappropriate comments towards students is the type of person you respect then go ahead and have people like him around. Personally I am glad he is gone. He was a joke and how he ever got to be principal is beyond me.
I agree. bacon was kinda cool if you were a student but i think he favored a certain ethnic group more than others. In that position you need to be fair, firm, and consistant.
thank you number 8 for saying that because i didnt want to bring it up.bacon did favor a certain "group" of people.that "group" was never in class and roamed the halls and did as they pleased while everyone else had to sit through class and beg for a good grade while they passed for being buddies with the friendly principal
I had a meeting with him when my child was at LC. First off, he was late. When he did finally arrive, he never introduced himself much less apologize for being late. I'm being kind when I say he was unprofessional.
#12 I am agree with you he was very unprofessional. In response to the ethnic group favortism... unprofessionalism was demonstrated to all ethnic group. He is not professional enough to be a principal..
I am not familiar with Mr. Bacon's time at LCCHS but have seen him at work here in Macon throughout his tenure. While Mr. Bacon may have had some issues resulting from youth and inexperience while at LCCHS, he has provided an excellent example for both the student's and faculty here.I am impressed with the way he has helped to spark a renaissance at Southwest High School and I agree with the suggestion that the System leadership is throwing people under the bus to protect themselves.
How is this racist? Doesn't this mean that YOU are racist for knowing WHO Walter is talking about? The free lunch crowd could be Japanese, for all we know. But why would this be considered racist? Is the fact that most WHITE people go to baptist churces, and if someone says this, they are RACIST????
Bacon is sitting at home reading this and hoping that nobody tears the scab off the real reasons he left here. He had a definite dark side and does not belong in education.
I was a student of his at LCCHS and well his class was a joke. All I remember from his class was everyone sitting around talking, no learning going on. He acted as though he was one of the students instead of the teacher. What a waste.
I am with you on his class being a total joke. We sat there and did nothing. Easiest A I ever got but I had been in that class with the previous teacher Mr. Newanzi (I can't remember how to spell his name) and we actually learned things. I had Bacon his first year at LCCHS and the class was so different from what I was used to. Kids were eating, drinking, and almost to the point of intercourse in his class. Bacon doesn't need to have any influence on children.
to all mr.bacon was a great principle who cared about his student i've seen him send students to colllege to become lawyer docters, and etc. you guy should put aside the negative thoughts about him a think good thoughts the bible he who is without sin cast the first stone. this everyone shout be forgivin
So in so many word you're calling me stupid. Lets just put it like this i type without looking and every sentence that i posed was in fact complete sentences so obviously your the dumb on :)

I don't remember if people were thrown under the bus at Griffin or not..
Such poetic language, Walter! You make veiled racist comments sound so pretty.
And that's all I get out of it.
What little words do you read between the lines that I'm missing?
No Bacon
In Macon.
