Lamar County Middle School opened its football season here last week with an impressive 40-14 win over Gray Station at Trojan Field.
After a 71 yard touchdown run by Micquavious Searcy was negated by a penalty, the first of three long touchdown runs called back for flags on the Trojans, Lawrence Austin scored from 32 yards out.
Searcy added the two-point conversion to give LCMS an 8-0 lead.
On the Greyhounds' next possession Searcy blocked a punt. Lance Austin picked it up and returned 25 yards for a touchdown.
Lawrence Austin scored for Lamar on the next possession on a 46 yard run. Lance Austin found Tyler Scandrett open for the two point conversion to give the Trojans a 22-0 lead.
Gray Station fumbled the ensuing kick and Searcy recovered for LCMS. Searcy scored from five yards out later in the possession.
