The day everyone has been waiting has finally arrived. The Rock Ranch Hot Air Balloon Rally will launch today and is destined to be bigger and better than ever.
This year’s balloon rally is presented by Cronic Chevrolet of Griffin and will feature balloon pilots from throughout the southeast competing for a wide array of exciting prizes.
The balloons will first launch around 8:30 a.m., well before the gates open, but guests will be allowed to come into the parking lot and watch the launch. The second launch will take place at approximately 6 p.m. and the picturesque Ferrell Gas “balloon glow” will begin at dark.

The second annual Dewaine T. Bell Memorial Chili Cook Off will be held in the high school cafeteria Thursday, Oct. 29. The time is set from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. but last year the cook off sold out of chili in the first hour. [Full Story »]

The market will host a pumpkin patch during regular market hours on Oct. 15, 22 and 29. Market manager Eunice Graham noted the market will also feature Indian corn and decorative baskets.
