Judge Caldwell has stepped down; agrees not to seek office again
Griffin circuit Judge Johnnie L. Caldwell Jr. of Thomaston has resigned his post, effective April 23.
UPDATE: There are reports emanating from Atlanta media sources that at least one investigator from the Georgia Judicial Qualifications Commission was at courthouses in the circuit today with regard to an investigation. Additionally, Caldwell has signed an agreement with the JQC to never seek office again."
GBI public affairs officer John Bankhead said Tuesday evening his office is not yet involved in any investigation into Judge Caldwell.

Milner police report
During March, the Milner police department logged 377 hours on duty and patrolled 3,320 miles. Officers investigated 10 incidents and two accidents and performed 75 building security checks and seven assists. There were nine miscellaneous calls. They issued 54 warnings and made 42 arrests or citations including 21 speeding, three child restraint violations, three driving with a suspended license, two possession of marijuana, one defective equipment, two suspended registration, one tint violation, one driving too fast for conditions, two no insurance, one driving without a license, three seat belt violations and one theft by taking.
