Milner Police Report
During May the Milner police department logged 335 man-hours and patrolled 3,348 miles. Officers investigated 10 incidents and four accidents, performed 67 building security checks and 11 assists and answered 12 miscellaneous calls. They issued 63 warnings and 55 arrests or citations including 19 speeding, two DUI, 10 no seat belt, three open container, four possession of marijuana, two driving without a license, one driving with a suspended driver’s license, seven child restraint violations, one expired tag, two child endangerment, one reckless driving, one unregistered vehicle, one failure to maintain lane and one fleeing and attempting to elude.

GEORGIA STATE PATROL REPORT
Post 44 of the Georgia State Patrol in Forsyth investigated 12 traffic crashes during May in Lamar County. Traffic crashes resulted in 12 injuries and no deaths.

Magistrate court report
Between Friday, June 4, and Thursday, June 10, the magistrate court performed two weddings; issued 20 criminal warrants; filed four dispossessories, one garnishment and one civil suit; and held two dispossessory, one civil suit, two preliminary/committal and 16 first appearance/bond hearings.

Pike sheriff, GBI investigating shooting of Lamar man
Pike County sheriff's investigators are working an apparent homicide that occurred on Reid Road near the Lamar County line Friday afternoon. Pike coroner Terrell Moody was on the scene and left at 5:10 p.m. He confirmed the victim was a white male.
UPDATE: The Herald-Gazette has confirmed the victim lived on Ramah Church Road in Lamar County and was 29 or 30 years old. He did two previous prison terms for possession of methamphetamine. [Full Story »]
