Frenchie Fambro was indicted by the September term Lamar County grand jury on a single count of voluntary manslaughter Tuesday, according to district attorney Richard Milam who took the case to the panel as a special presentment.

Revaluations nearing completion
With revaluations of the entire county 90% complete and a deadline to get it done looming in December, Lamar tax appraisers hit a roadblock in a tornado-stricken part of the county. The tornado, however, was not the problem.

Barnesville budget proposed
Barnesville city council has set a proposed 2012 budget of $12,943,225, a 3.3% increase over 2011. City manager Kenny Roberts said the main increases came in electrical rate hikes and personnel.

In a brief called meeting this morning, the Lamar County commission named Robert "Bob" Zellner of the Redbone community as county manager.
