Along with the traditional activities at the Illumination Celebration, this year’s event will also feature a gingerbread house decorating contest to go along with the theme of “A Gingerbread Christmas”.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas around town. Members of the Azalea Garden Club will deck the town with boughs of holly and red bows this week. City crews have been stringing tiny, white lights in the trees flanking downtown. [Full Story »]

Lamar countians have the opportunity to go to the polls today to cast ballots in the E-SPLOST referendum. If the referendum carries, a currently implemented one percent sales tax to fund education in the county would be continued.

Polling places throughout the county will be open until 7 p.m.
