I’ve always been intrigued by the great passenger ship, Titanic. The White Star Liner Titanic, the largest ship the world had ever known, sailed from Southampton, England, on her maiden voyage to New York City on Wednesday, April 10, 1912. She was built with double bottoms and her hull was divided into 16 watertight compartments. She was thought to be unsinkable. The liner carried more than 2,200 passengers, with 700 on the ships registry who were immigrants coming to America in pursuit of the land of milk and honey. [Full Story »]

UPDATE: We are back up and running!

The City of Barnesville will have to cut power to The Herald-Gazette office for about 45 minutes at about 1:25 p.m. this afternoon to replace a bad transformer that is affecting other locations on Greenwood Street. Our phone system will not function during the outage. We will advise via this site when we are back up and running.

Rodriquez Cential Foster, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, obstruction of an officer, aggravated assault, reckless conduct and discharging a firearm on a public street: mental evaluation ordered.
