Records request shakes loose cop shooting report

Pursuant to an open records request from The Herald-Gazette, the Spalding County sheriff’s office has released an incident report and three officer narratives stemming from a June 12 altercation in which an off-duty Griffin police officer was shot.

The report confirmed the off-duty officer was Chad Moxon as reported here since shortly after the incident. [Full Story »]

A Lamar County man who works as a City of Griffin police officer was shot in the hip during a domestic altercation in Spalding County June 12.

Officer Chad Moxon was off duty when the incident occurred at a residence located at 4768 Old Atlanta Road. According to Spalding County tax records, the home there is owned by James Lawrence Scott of Molena. [Full Story »]
