Turnout at Lamar County polling places today has been moderate thus far today and there have been multiple issues with voters on the rolls with the wrong address and at least one longtime voter who was not in the system at all.

In addition, elections supervisor Anita Reid reported that Joe Buice has met all signature requirements and has qualified to run for sheriff as an Independent candidate in November. [Full Story »]

Registered voters in Lamar County go to the polls today to cast ballots in the Georgia general and nonpartisan primary. Polling places throughout the county are open from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.

The presence of the highly controversial T-SPLOST referendum and several contested local races on the ballot are expected to boost turnout. In all, 811 Lamar voters cast advance ballots over the last three weeks and another 149 requested absentee ballots; of those, 93 were returned. [Full Story »]
