A candlelight vigil in memory of those killed in the tragic mass shooting at a school in Newtown, Ct. will be held here at 5 p.m. Tuesday in front of the Barnesville-Lamar County Library on Thomaston Street in Barnesville.
Local churches, schools and others are involved and the public is urged to attend.

Lamar County seniors can stop calling the tax assessor’s office about the newly proposed school tax exemption the board of education put into motion. It is still in the study stages and the earliest it can take effect is 2014.
