On Feb. 12, Lamar and Butts county sheriff’s offices arrested three suspects for burglary. Butts county deputies conducted a traffic stop and located several guns, video gaming machines and a laptop computer suspected to be stolen property. Both sheriff’s offices, through cooperative investigations, were able to determine the guns, computer and gaming machines were stolen from recent burglaries that occurred on Fox Road and Barnesville Road in Milner. Arrests made after shootings

Spalding County authorities have made several arrests in two separate shooting incidents.

With the assistance of the community, officers located and arrested Patrick John Douglas without incident during a traffic stop. At the time of the stop he was found to be in possession of a firearm. He was wanted for questioning for his involvement in a shooting that occurred on 5th Street in East Griffin on Saturday, Jan. 26 as a result of a drug related argument. During the argument Christopher John Henry Zickefoose 20 years old of 6th Street Griffin, shot Patrick John Douglas in the chest. [Full Story »]
