The Griffin Choral Arts community chorus, under the direction of Dr. Stephen J. Mulder, will present “Masterworks: Mozart’s Requiem” on Thursday, March 12, at 7:30 p.m. at The Griffin Auditorium.
This concert features Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Requiem Mass in D Minor, one of Mozart’s most performed and popular but also mysterious works. The Mozart Requiem became popular most recently in 1984 through its prominence in the plot line of the Oscarwinning film Amadeus.
While the film features only isolated excerpts from the Requiem, the GCA concert will be an excellent opportunity to hear this masterpiece in its entirety.
