James Carl (Buddy) Waller
Mr. James Carl “Buddy” Waller, age 76, of 287 Johnstonville Road, Barnesville, Georgia, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2019 at Macon Navicent Health Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bobbie Carol Waller; one daughter, Jennifer Carol Leveillee; one granddaughter, Jasmine Marie Leveillee; one grandson, Tristan James Leveillee; son-in-law, Jerry Leveillee; and sisters-in-law, Joyce Waller and Glenna Waller and a number of nieces and nephews.

Fred Lee Smoot
Mr. Fred Lee Smoot, age 89, of Barnesville, GA passed away on Friday, December 13, 2019 at Brightmoor Hospice.
Mr. Smoot, formerly of Gauley Mountain, WV, was born on Thursday, May 29, 1930 to the late Charles Richard Smoot and the late Etta Susan Tingler Smoot. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Susan Smoot. Fred was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was the owner of S&R Crane Service.
Fred is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joann Smoot; children and their spouses, Steven Wayne & Kimberly Smoot, Thomas Lee & Debbie Smoot, Caroline Kay & William Harris, and Julie Ann & Thomas Knott;

James Richard "Jim" Westbury, Sr.
Mr. James Richard “Jim” Westbury, Sr., age 78, of Griffin, Georgia, went to be with his Lord on Friday, December 13, 2019.
Jim was born on Saturday, November 22, 1941 in Dansville, New York to the late Reverend Samuel Joseph Westbury and the late Dorothy Elizabeth Miller Westbury. He is preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Chambley Westbury, and grandson, Evan Richard Brock. Jim grew up in Augusta, Georgia and graduated from Richmond Academy. He attended the Georgia Institute of Technology, Evangel Bible College, and went on to graduate from the University of Georgia. He was a lifelong Georgia Bulldog fan. He was very involved at Griffin First Assembly in many leadership positions and later at First Baptist Church of Griffin, where he served on the board of deacons and was a member of The Brothers Sunday School class. Jim spent his entire working life as the Administrator for the family nursing home in Jenkinsburg/Jackson. He was a pioneer in the Georgia Health Care Association. Jim - with generosity, grace, humility and love - cared for others all his life. Jim survived being hit by a train on Memorial Day 1971, famously apologizing to the conductor for stopping the train.
Jim is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Bass Westbury; children and their spouses, Penny and Rick Griffin, Patti and Byron Brock, James and Tonya Westbury, Joe and Drew Westbury; grandchildren, Tyler and Dana Griffin, Kip and Daniel Wise, Keaton Wise, David Brock, Jay Westbury, Adam Brock, Mattie Westbury, Kitty Westbury, Kami Westbury, Karoline Westbury, and Kaysen Westbury; great-grandson, Avery Griffin; sister, Margie Hunt; brothers and sisters-in-law, Phil and Sherry Westbury, Ron and Karen Westbury; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Jim Westbury will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Griffin. Dr. Bill Hardee and Dr. Ron Westbury will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery with Dr. Benny Tate officiating. Friends visited the family on Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home in Griffin. Friends may also visit the family one hour prior to the service in the Parlor of the First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army, 725 Meriwether Street, Griffin, Georgia 30224.

Amanda "Mandi" Jane Cole Nicholas
Mrs. Amanda “Mandi” Jane Cole Nicholas, age 48, of Meansville, GA formerly of Tallapoosa, GA passed away November 22, 2019. She was born May 4, 1971 in Carrollton, GA and was preceded in death by her father, Dennis Benjamin Cole.
Mandi was the baby of her family’s three children. They were a beautiful family that she loved dearly, and they meant the world to her. She was a beautiful, fun loving woman who was full of life. She cherished her family; if there was sickness, she was the caretaker, in disagreements, she was the peacemaker. Her patience and love had no end. With exception when it came to a good ‘ole Georgia football game!
Mandi graduated from Haralson County High School Class of 1989. She loved her career working with Carrollton Police Department and she loved quilting. Mandi held Pine Hill Christian Church close to her heart. God, family and friends were the things she loved the most. Her unwavering faith was amazing. She was sure of her final home and love is her legacy.
Mandi is survived by her husband, Brian Nicholas and daughter, Mary Syble Nicholas both of Meansville; mother and step-father, Mary Lois and Willard Loftin of Bowdon; sister, Machelle Black of Mt. Zion, GA; brother and sister in law, Benji and Renee Cole, of Bowdon; and nephews, Taylor Alred, Griffin Cole, Roswell Cole and Cole Black.
Funeral services were held November 25, 2019 at 2:00 PM EST from Pine Hill Christian Church, Graham, AL with Rev. Doug Hardy and Rev. Scott Blake officiating. A special reading was be rendered by Aunt Carol Traylor. Music was provided by Wanice Odell and Susan Gibbs. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers were Taylor Alred, Cole Black, Roswell Cole, Griffin Cole, Truman Traylor and Tim Cole. Interment followed in Pine Hill Church Cemetery.
