Magistrate court once again offers free Valentine’s weddings

Chief magistrate William Thomas is once again offering his free Valentine’s Day wedding services on Sunday, Feb. 14. from 1-5 p.m.

Weddings will be performed on a first-come, first served basis. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling 770-358-5154. Couples wishing to wed must acquire a marriage license from probate court during normal business hours prior to getting hitched.

Curious minds would like to know? How long this has been offered and what it the divorce rate of those who have used this service in the past? For those who have divorced since being married for free, maybe a $500.00 reimbursement to the county would be in order. Just a thought> But good for those who take advantage of this and stay together.

Ha ha, Valentines day is on Sunday, and the story posted Saturday afternoon, with the notation that a marriage liscense must be obtained first during normal business hours. I love it!

i dont understand if you live together for years, why do u wait until its free to get married. if you cant afford to pay the marriage cost you surely cant afford a family.

Well there is another way to look at this.
Perhaps the ceremony is just a formality to endure, and it's the marriage afterwards that really matters.
This from a person who told her father "Dad, give me $200.00 to pay for the wedding and I'll tell you when to walk me down the aisle", 25-3/4 years ago.

thanks to all involved for the beautiful wedding and pictures taken from the wedding. mr. thomas and the others were very kind and thoughtful. my now wife looked like an angel in her gown and i wasnt too shabby myself im 25 now and she's 24 and we plan on spending the rest of our lives 2gether, i'll reply in 25 yrs 2 let ya guys know how we're doing. thx a lot guys, i'll never 4get yesterday (literally)
