Lamar County Schools and all system sporting events are canceled for Friday February 12 due to the forecast of snow here.
The weather is expected to move in at mid-morning Friday with accumulations of up to three inches, according to school superintendent Dr. Bill Truby.

I hope it's not a soggy snow. I hope it's a little drier so it sticks around for a day and the kids can make some snowmen.

You do realize that our track record for winter weather has always been more ice than snow. I'm not saying that we won't see some snow but I'm betting more on ice which is more problematic and dangerous than snow. If you absolutely must drive in it please be very careful.
